While certainly not a surprise, County Executive John R. Leopold will officially kick off his campaign for re-election tomorrow afternoon in Davidsonville.
I ran for this office four years ago promising to keep taxes lower than any other metropolitan jurisdiction. I promised to cut government spending. I promised to fight for our citizens over developers and special interests. I promised to be responsive to the concerns of individual citizens. I am pleased to say that I kept these promises. If elected to another term, I will continue to fight for our taxpayers.

County Executive Leopold formally filed for his candidacy today at the Board of Elections. He has shown that environmental protection and economic development are not mutually exclusive goals by investing in land preservation, reforestation and renewable energy to create jobs and attract businesses and individuals to Anne Arundel County .
