Irony At Its Finest

| June 16, 2010, 02:29 PM | 1 Comment

Mayor Josh Cohen was quoted by The Capital from yesterday’s press conference:

“The theft was not just a theft of a camera or some object from City Hall. The theft was literally a theft of taxpayer dollars. And in my view, it was a betrayal of the public’s trust in their government to be a responsible steward of their money.”

And then this morning’s police report, had this one:

Theft – On Tuesday, June 15, 2010 officers responded to Annapolis City Hall for the report of a theft. A City of Annapolis employee said that someone had taken a digital camera from her desk. The victim said she had last seen the camera on June1, 2010. The victim’s desk drawer does not lock and the office door is not usually locked.

Irony. What is the real meaning of that word. I think it is ironic that I Fred Shubbie, banned for life from making prophetic, insightful comments on Hometown Annapolis was echoed in today’s commentary by Eric Hartley. Again, you will always hear the good stuff here at Eye on Annapolis. What are we talking about? my reference to Mayberry. —
