Another Pedestrian Struck In Glen Burnie

Type of Collision: Hit and run, involving pedestrian
Location of Incident: Hospital Drive east of Crain Highway in Glen Burnie
Date & Time: June 25, 2010 @ 10:03 p.m.
Motor Vehicle #1: 1995 Buick Lesabre, silver in color
Driver: Julian Christopher Lunn, 28, of 456 Glen Mar Road, Apt. B1, Glen Burnie, MD
Pedestrian: Ronald E. Wooldridge, 49, of 146 Brightwater Drive, Annapolis, MD
Injuries: Critical condition at Shock Trauma
Synopsis:
On June 25, 2010, at approximately 10:03 p.m., officers from the Eastern District were dispatched to the area of Hospital Drive and Crain Highway in Glen Burnie for a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash.

The initial investigation indicated that a pedestrian was standing on the south side of the eastbound lanes of Hospital Drive, just east of Crain Highway and a silver Buick Lesabre was traveling eastbound on Hospital Drive from Crain Highway. The pedestrian failed to yield the
right of way and stepped into the path of the Buick, which subsequently struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene. The pedestrian was transported via ambulance to Shock Trauma and was in critical condition at the time of the crash.

A witness followed the suspect vehicle and contacted police. Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the area of Hiddenbrook Drive and Secluded Post Circle in Glen Burnie. The driver was positively identified as being involved in the aforementioned crash

Last night, the  Anne Arundel County Fire Department was dispatched to Crain Highway and Hospital Drive for a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.   The patient was classified as a Priroity 1 (life threatening injuries) and transported to Shock Trauma with multiple injuries.

Earlier this month, Joshua Paul Reitz was killed on Ritchie Highway near the Courthouse and there have been several other pedestrian accidents in the area in the last 12 months.
