Site Discovers A Throw Back
Way back in the day, Sears used to sell pre-manufactured homes from their catalog. Apparently, Annapolis has quite a few of them as was discovered by the blog The Ugly Woman’s Guide To Internet Dating (yeah, go figure). Check it out and see the 7 homes like the Newcastle (shown above) which was originally purchased for $1631.00. The blog has the original catalog pages as well as current photos of the homes.
Do local Realtors keep track of such things? What a great little piece of history! What a great find!

Actually, the author of “The Ugly Woman’s Guide to Internet Dating” is also the author of several books on Sears kit homes. That’s why that website has so much information on Sears Homes.
I figured there was a connection somewhere. Thanks for putting the pieces together!
