Churches Look To Solve Bullying.  Student bullying is an issue that has educators and members of Baltimore’s faith community concerned.The recent bullying of 8-year-old Shinaya Boyd at her east Baltimore elementary school helped to spark new debate over the issue. City schools CEO Dr. Andres Alonso said that the district needs more programs to address bullying and said that he believes bullying is a community issue.

Body Found In State Park.  Maryland State Police homicide investigators are investigating the discovery of a body in a state park.The partially decomposed body of a man was found Saturday in a shallow grave in a wooded area of Patapsco Valley State Park. The body showed signs of trauma, according to State Police.The body was found by one of two men who were fishing in the park at 3 p.m. near the 1200 block of River Road in Linthicum Heights.

MD Man On Moped Charged With DUI.  Dewey Beach Police said a 37-year-old Maryland man is facing drunken driving charges after officers spotted him weaving in traffic on his moped.Police said officers saw Jesse Duffy of Earleville, Md., leave the Sea Spot Shopping Center by driving over the sidewalk late Thursday night.When they tried to stop him, police said Duffy turned off Coastal Highway onto King Charles Avenue.

Dog Attacked With Machete Released Back To Family.  The dog that was attacked by a man with a machete has been released back to her family.Officials with the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter said Akasha, an 18-month-old shepherd/pit bull mix, underwent surgery following the attack in the 3000 block of Wylie Avenue.One of Akasha’s eyes had to be removed and her muzzle was stitched. Repairs were done to one of her lungs, which collapsed because of a stab wound. Her right wrist was repaired and drains were installed in some of the wounds.
