Glen Burnie Student Charged With Murder. A Frostburg State University student is accused of shooting two fellow students, one of them fatally, with a shotgun after a fight that began at an off-campus party.Police said 21-year-old Tyrone Hall of Glen Burnie has been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder.Hall is accused of firing two rounds from a 12-gauge shotgun, striking two of his fellow students in the abdomen.

Annapolis Fire Crews Battle 4-Alarm Fire. Fire officials are trying to figure out what caused a four-alarm building fire in the downtown historic district.The fire broke out at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday between several buildings on Maryland Avenue. Crews from the U.S. Naval Academy also helped fight the blaze.Firefighters said they had trouble getting to the source of the fire after determining it was in the walls separating two buildings.

Principal Found Slain At MD Home.  Montgomery County police said they are investigating the death of a Washington, D.C., school principal as a homicide. Police said a co-worker found 42-year-old Brian Betts dead in his Silver Spring home in the 9300 block of Columbia Boulevard on Thursday evening after he failed to report to work.Police said Betts’ SUV is missing. Police said preliminary autopsy results show the cause of Betts’ death was homicide, and the manner of his death was by gunshot.

MD College Tuition To Go Up. For the first time in four years, Maryland is raising its college tuition.Maryland was one of few states remaining with a tuition freeze, but now it’ll be forced to lift it. The Board of Regents blames the economy and deep state budget cuts for the increases.
