3 Alarm Fire In Annapolis

Maryland Avenue Stores Catches Fire

6:59pm UPDATE: The Baltimore Sun has more details on the fire. Two buildings were damaged which include two businesses (Leonard Tourné Gallery and The Smoke Shop) and four apartments above the businesses.

5:02pm UPDATE: The store where the fire started was not Paws Pet Boutique. Paws is listed at that location in many online directories. It is possible the fire department does not have an updated tenant list as the fire was initially reported as being at “Paul’s Dog Boutique”.  See Annapolis Fire Department Twitter feed below. Unfortunately, with breaking news, errors can and do happen and we strive to make corrections and clarifications as soon as possible.

4:32 pm  From a reader: “The fire is not at Paws – Paws moved to State Circle years ago. 54 Maryland Avenue is either Annapolis Interiors or Green River Fossils. Next door to the Smoke Shop.”

Annapolis firefighters are on the scene of a three alarm fire at 54 Maryland Avenue in the historic district of Annapolis.  The first call came in just before 2pm. When crews arrived on the scene, smoke was visible and they called for a second alarm at 157pm.

A third alarm was just called as the fire was spreading to other buildings.

The address of dispatch was 54 Maryland Avenue which is Paws Pet Boutique.

A fourth alarm was just called at 2:46pm.

The fire was just placed under control at 2:50pm. Crews reporting that there is a lot of overhaul (tear down) to do to make sure it is extinguished.
