Signatures Will Not Be Certified Yet
The Baltimore Sun is reporting that the Anne Arundel County Board of Elections will not certify the results of the petition drive until the legal challenges have been resolved.
The leaders of the drive, submitted 40,408 signatures and 43% of those were rejected. The developer of the proposed slots parlor, Cordish Companies, has filed a suit seeking to have the entire petition rejected based on allegations of forged signatures.
According to law, the Election Board has two days after the resolution of any legal proceedings to make the decision to certify the signatures.
