Home Invasion Leads To Deadly Shooting. Baltimore County police are investigating a deadly shooting in Perry Hall. Police responded at about 5:45 a.m. Sunday to a home in the 4200 block of Chapel Road. Preliminary information from police  is that a suspected burglar had somehow entered the home and was confronted by a resident.

Woman Dies In Howard County Crash. A driver is dead after a crash on Snowden River Parkway.Police said the crash happened at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday, southwest of Oakland Mills Road.Investigators said the driver swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle, lost control of her car and struck a tree.Officers said Mary John, 21, of Columbia, died at the scene.

Target To Give City School Library A Makeover. A much-needed makeover is in the works for a Baltimore city school library.National retailer Target is picking put the tab for the changes to come at Brehms Lane Elementary School. It’s one of 32 schools in the nation that made the cut.

Senate May Alter Rules For Rocky Gap Slots. Maryland senators have given tentative approval to changing slots policy to entice a bidder to a Western Maryland location. Senators agreed Friday to give initial support to a bill that would give any bidders for an Allegheny County slots license 35.5 percent of the gaming revenues for five years, instead of 33 percent, if they agree to buy the troubled Rocky Gap Lodge and Resort.
