Activists Rally Against Education Cuts. Hundreds of Baltimore city educators, parents and students gathered Monday on Lawyers Mall in Annapolis to rally against cuts against education funding.The activists urged legislators not to cut anything from Gov. Martin O’Malley’s education budget.The rally was organized by the Baltimore Education Coalition, which has played a part in the past in rallying the city’s education community.

Jury Deadlocks In Street Racing Deaths. A Prince George’s County jury has deadlocked on the most serious charges against a man charged in the deaths of eight people at an illegal street race.The jury convicted 20-year-old Tavon Taylor on Monday of driving in an illegal street race and reckless driving.But after deliberating for 15 hours over two days, jurors could not reach a unanimous verdict on the eight counts of vehicular manslaughter.

MD Man Arrested In Death Of Maine Baby. The FBI arrested a 27-year-old man in Maryland on Monday who was wanted on murder charges in connection with the death of a 15-month-old boy in Maine. The FBI said Edgard Anziani was arrested in Bladensburg shortly after 1 p.m., two days after the FBI offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Ehrlich Criticizes O’Malley Trip To Iraq. Former Gov. Robert Ehrlich, who is weighing whether to challenge Gov. Martin O’Malley for the state’s top post, criticized the governor for traveling to Iraq during the legislative session. O’Malley defended himself upon his return.Ehrlich made the comments Saturday during his weekly radio show on 1090 WBAL AM, saying he would not have made the same decision.
