April Speakers Announced

The Rotary Club of Annapolis has announced upcoming speakers for April, with luncheon meetings at noon at the Annapolis Yacht Club on Compromise Street in Annapolis.

In addition, in April the club will participate with the Parole Rotary Club and the South County Rotary Club at the annual Joint Community Service Awards evening. At the event each club will present its “Service Above Self” award. The event celebrates service in the community by an individual who is not a Rotarian.

April 1 – Lorie Stout, outstanding sailor, will speak. Ms. Stout has directed the Annapolis Community Boating, a grassroots effort to increase access to boating by putting together the resources and ideas of various recreational, educational, and youth organizations. She has worked with various efforts to promote sailing for youth in the community.

April 8 – Dr. Chris Puttock, a member of the College Park Rotary Club, will discuss environmental changes.

April 15 – Two club members will give classification talks, discussing their careers and participation in Rotary.

April 22 – Donald R. Lilley, principal of Annapolis High School, will speak.

On April 29 the Annapolis Rotary will present its “Service Above Self” award for 2010 during the joint clubs dinner to be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Lowes Annapolis Hotel, 126 West Street. Guest fee is $35.
