From several press releases sent out today:

For the second time in three years, Anne Arundel County Public Schools has moved up on a nationally recognized index ranking school systems’ ability to prepare students for college-level exams. (Read Full Release)

Dancers from all grade levels throughout the county will take part in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Dance Festival, which is set to begin a six-show run on Thursday, February 4, 2010. The festivals, which will feature a combined 1,623 dancers, are performance opportunities for elementary school through high school students to perform original dance pieces that have been choreographed by instructors at their schools, by students, or by guest choreographers. Forty Arundel High School students will take part in a Global Citizenship pilot program at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington thanks to a grant received by the Target Corporation. The students will take three field trips as part of the program, which promotes peace-building and provides students with instruction related to peace-building and conflict resolution among their peers.
