Ambulance Crashes Into School Bus In AnnapolisAnne Arundel County police are investigating who was at fault in a collision between an ambulance and a school bus in Annapolis.The crash happened at the intersection of 6th Street and Severn Avenue at about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.Police said the ambulance was responding to a call when it crashed into the school bus.

Salary Recommendations For Lawmakers Rejected. State House leaders have rejected a state panel’s recommendation that would have capped a pay hike for lawmakers for at least two years and would have had significant economic strings attached to future salary increases.The recommendation by the General Assembly Compensation Commission came on the heals of public backlash to news that members of the General Assembly were in a position to give themselves a raise this year in the midst of high unemployment, layoffs and furloughs of state workers.

Harris Announces 2nd Bid Against Kratovil.  State Sen. Andrew Harris officially announced Tuesday he will run again for Maryland’s 1st District congressional seat, which is considered by political observers to be among the most at-risk seats for Democrats around the country. Harris, an obstetric anesthesiologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital, lost by less than 1 percent of the vote in 2008 to Rep. Frank Kratovil, who became the first Democrat to win the district in 18 years. Harris kicked off his announcement denouncing the health care plan in Congress and calling for an end to special-interest congressional spending known as earmarks.

Sex Offender Charged With Abuse Of Girl, 8. A registered sex offender is accused of fondling an 8-year-old girl.Police said the incident happened at a Baltimore city church.Rodney Key, 46, was released from prison in April after serving seven years in prison.In 2001, Key pleaded guilty to child abuse in Talbot County. He received a 30-year sentence with 15 years suspended.He’s accused of abusing the girl on Sunday at St. James Church on South Augusta Avenue in southwest Baltimore.
