Judge Dismisses Baltimore Suit Against Wells Fargo. A federal judge has dismissed the city of Baltimore’s first-of-its kind lawsuit against Wells Fargo Bank N.A.U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz explained Wednesday that the city’s claim that the mortgage giant triggered millions of dollars in damages with racist, predatory lending was not plausible.

Details Of Baltimore Mayor Dixon’s Pension. The pension Mayor Sheila Dixon will get as part of the deal she and her legal team brokered Wednesday has been stirring controversy. She’ll receive the pension despite being found guilty by a jury and pleading guilty to perjury, and the benefits will be provided for her courtesy of taxpayers in the city and around the state.Dixon entered into a plea deal with prosecutors that gives her probation before judgment in both criminal cases against her. Any conviction in the cases would have cost her per pension, but probation before judgment is not a conviction.

Woman In Frozen Body Case Faces Sentencing.  A Maryland woman accused of killing two of her adopted daughters and keeping their bodies in a freezer for months is scheduled to be sentenced Friday in Calvert County for the abuse of a third girl.Renee Bowman, 44, pleaded guilty in September to first-degree child abuse. She has a separate trial scheduled for February in Montgomery County on murder charges.

Harford County Budget Cuts Could Include Teachers The Harford County school system is drawing up its 2011 budget and is already warning that paychecks may be cut, even from teachers. The concern from the district’s 3,000 teachers is about pay and, most of all, how students will be affected.
