Teen Refused To Stop Texting In Court

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Demonte T. Jones did not heed the warning of an Anne Arundel County Sheriff who told him to stop texting on his cell phone in the courtroom. The incident happened Wednesday afternoon at the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court on Church Circle in Annapolis.

The melee involved Deputy Brian Schwab and his brother. When Schwab went to restrain the youth, the youth pushed back and the deputy’s brother (also a deputy) joined in the fight. Somewhere along the way, Deputy Schwab (the original one) suffered a broken leg.

Jones was arrested on numerous charges and was ultimately released on his own recognizance.
