A Colorado woman who won a $1.2 million house in Maryland in a $50-a-ticket raffle last year has sold the property to a church. Karen McHale, 47, of Denver, said she bought two raffle tickets as a contribution to the Annapolis charity that worked with a mortgage broker to sell his Edgewater home.
H1N1 Vaccine Available To All MD Residents. The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said the H1N1 vaccine is currently available to all Maryland residents. The vaccine is available at county health departments Tuesday and will be shipped to pharmacies by next week, although they may charge an administrative fee, officials said.
Police: Woman Tried To Cut Out, Take Unborn Baby. Prince George’s County police said a pregnant homeless woman was held at a Suitland apartment for five days and that her captor tried to cut the unborn baby from her body. Police said 40-year-old Veronica Deramous, who told relatives and her boyfriend that she was pregnant even though she was not, promised the woman baby clothes.But once they were at Deramous’ apartment last week, Deramous attacked and bound her, according to investigators.
