Towson University Bans Smoking On Campus. A local university is leading the way on a campus-wide smoking ban. Towson University just passed a measure which would force smokers to light up off university grounds.The university covers more than 300 acres — so if anyone wanthing to smoke on campus next fall could have to take a long walk to get out of the smoke-free zone.

Students Honor Vets Through Letters. On Veterans Day, some of Maryland’s youngest citizens paid tribute to those Marylanders currently serving our country and remembered their own families through letters. Operation Appreciation kicked off throughout the state on Wednesday. Students took the time to write letters thanking veterans, service members and military families for their service to the country.

Biden’s Motorcade Strikes, Kills Pedestrian. U.S. Park Police said a man was fatally struck by two U.S. Secret Service vehicles at a Suitland Parkway intersection. The two vehicles owned and operated by the Secret Service were traveling together when the pedestrian was hit at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Suitland Parkway and Naylor Road in Temple Hills.

Dixon Lashes Out At Reporters About Trial. Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon is showing signs of stress as she braces herself for the start of testimony Thursday in her felony theft trial. When asked a question about the proceedings, the mayor lashed out.Keeping up her appearances, the mayor participated in a stirring Veterans Day ceremony at War Memorial Plaza Hall on Wednesday.
