H1N1 Vaccines At Local High Schools

Nine Anne Arundel County high schools will be used as sites for free H1N1 vaccination clinics beginning on December 1, 2009, as part of Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ ongoing partnership with the Anne Arundel County Department of Health to prevent the spread of the H1N1 influenza. The sites are spread throughout the county on each of three days to allow residents in all parts of the county easier access to them.

Vaccinations will be administered to the following target groups as identified by the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

  • pregnant women
  • people between 6 months and 24 years old
  • people who live with or care for children under 6 months of age
  • health care and emergency medical services personnel; and
  • people ages 25 to 64 who have chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems

The clinics will be open from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
No one may arrive to line up for a vaccine before 3:00 p.m. on the day of the clinic.
Clinics will be held in the cafeteria at the following schools:

Arundel High School, 1001 Annapolis Road, Gambrills
North County High School, 10 East First Avenue, Glen Burnie
Southern High School, 4400 Solomons Island Road, Harwood

Clinics will be held based on availability of vaccine. There will be no make-up dates if a clinic site is canceled for any reason.
