UPDATE 8:52 PM: It took firefighters an hour to bring the blaze under control and the home is a complete loss. Initial reports that the owners were not at home were unconfirmed and the whereabouts of the owner is unknown. A search operation is currently underway. The initial alarm was called in by neighbors who saw the smoke and flames.

A waterfront home on Ogleton Road was destroyed in a late afternoon blaze.  The fire broke out about 5:30pm and fire crews from across the County and City are still on the scene.

First crews arrived at 5:25 and reported the home was fully involved. Once it was confirmed that all residents were out of the dwelling, fire crews mounted  an exterior attack for their safety.

As with other fires in the area, the firefighters were having difficulty with the water supply despite 2 tanker trucks and a fireboat on the scene.

Reports from the scene are indicating that the home has collapsed into itself.

Arson investigators from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department are on the scene.
