Police Find Soldier’s Stolen Dog. Anne Arundel County police said the dog taken when its owner’s Jeep Cherokee was stolen in Annapolis has been found safe.The German short-haired pointer, Ellie, will be reunited with its owner who has been searching for the pup since Wednesday.Police said they were notified just after 8 a.m. Saturday that the dog was discovered in a crate near an industrial park at Nursery Road and Central Avenue in the Linthicum area.

Police: Fatal Crash Victim Is Baltimore Officer’s Son. Anne Arundel County Police said the son of a Baltimore City Police officer died Saturday morning in a crash in Severn.It happened at about 4:30 a.m. near New Cut and Upton roads.Anne Arundel County Police said Acura lost control on a curve and struck a metal support pole.The driver, Joseph Zapushek, 20, of Glen Burnie, died of his injuries. No one else was hurt.

Funeral Set For Former North County HS Student. Funeral arrangements have been made for a recent Glen Burnie high school student whose family said he died from complications from the swine flu. A  viewing for Walter Brooks will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services on 2nd Avenue S.W. at Crain Highway.A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Heritage Community Church in Severn.

Girl, 16, Gets 10 Years For Plotting Dad’s Murder. A 16-year-old Hagerstown girl has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for soliciting her father’s death. Danielle Black appeared in court Friday afternoon in the western Maryland city, nearly one year after Billy Lee Black was fatally stabbed on Halloween in an alley behind the family’s home. Danielle was convicted as an adult in July of asking a friend on a school bus to kill her dad to end the beatings she claimed to have suffered.
