Howard County Police Probe Rape Report. Howard County police are investigating a reported rape in Ellicott City.The 28-year-old victim told detectives that a man knocked on her door in the 2500 block of Thompson Drive at about 10 a.m. Thursday.The victim said she opened the door and saw a man with a gun wearing a ski mask, dark clothes and gloves.
Email Scam Hacks Accounts, Uses Personal Info. Officials are warning consumers of yet another Internet scam in which hackers get into thousands of Microsoft e-mail accounts and used personal information to get to their victims. “As we speak, they are inside my e-mail. I’m locked out. They’re corresponding with people, asking for money,” said user Paula Devine, who was locked out of her MSN Hotmail account for six days. Someone had hijacked the account and changed her password and security question. That allowed the hackers to basically walk through her cyber house, looking at all of her personal information stored in her inbox and sent mail.
Company Claims Medevac Bidding Process Is Rigged. An Italian company is currently giving state officials a first-hand look at possible replacements for the Medevac fleet, but another company said the state has rigged the bidding process and that it could cost taxpayers.Some consider the Italian craft as the biggest, fastest helicopter on the market. It’s also expensive at $12.6 million each.
