Local Home May Be To Blame
Federal and state crews were called to the Magothy River in Pasadena yesterday at 5:45 p.m. for an unknown amount of red-dye diesel fuel in the river. The fuel is believed to have leaked into the Magothy from a home on Grandview Road.
The Maryland Department of the Environment has placed pads on the property to absorb any additional fuel and placed booms in the river to contain it. The US Coast Guard and Miller Environmental (contractor) are performing a shoreline assessment. Miller will be hired to clean the spill. The cause is still under investigation.
