Almost 800 Attend First Event
Eye On Annapolis missed the opportunity to announce the first event in a series of outreach programs sponsored by the Board of Education. However, we are on the ball for the second!
The first event was held last Saturday at Annapolis Towne Centre near the Target entrance drawing nearly 800 people. The purpose of the event was to pick up back-to-school information and learn more about becoming involved in the education of their children. The sponsors are hoping for an equally big turnout at a similar event tomorrow, August 15 at the Fort Meade Pavilion.
From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., AACPS employees will be distributing information and answering questions at the Pavilion, located just inside the Llewellyn gate off Route 175. Information about schools, instructional programs, and other areas of interest, including parent workshops, will be provided. There will be bilingual interpreters available for Spanish speaking families.
Free gifts will be given to the first 500 visitors. There also will be hourly drawings for backpacks filled with school supplies.
