UPDATE: Glen Burnie Stabbing Now Homicide

Victim Dies, Police Need Witnesses

From the Anne Arundel County police Department:

On August 27, 2009, at approximately 5:36 p.m. officers from the Northern District responded to a report of a sick or injured person in the area of Ordnance Road and Stahl Point Road in Glen Burnie.

The caller advised that an unresponsive male was in a Ford Explorer that was stopped on the eastbound shoulder of the road. Consequently, police and paramedics were dispatched to the area.

When the police and paramedics arrived on the scene, they discovered a 48-year-old male subject slumped in the vehicle and suffering from trauma to his chest area. The victim was transported to Harbor Hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries and he later died from the injuries.

The victim has been identified as Andrew Joseph Giancoli, 48, of 218 Harlem Road, Pasadena MD.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is currently interviewing witnesses. There are no charges placed at this time and the investigation continues. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Carney at 410-222-3458.
