Independent Candidate For Annapolis Is Official
Sometime last month, Chris Fox got his 500th signature. On June 30th, both the County and City Election Boards gave him the green light to be a candidate for Mayor of Annapolis. When running as an independent candidate, not affiliated with any party, you must present at least 500 signatures representing registered voters to the local Election Boards.
In a time when many are questioning partisan politics, this might be the year that an independent candidate takes the keys to City Hall. Fox is a longtime downtown resident and business owner that believes the partisan bickering at City Hall has only hurt residents of Annapolis.
“Republicans and Democrats vote along party lines; it is my fear that the council all too often considers other motives when voting on legislation.” Fox stated, “When voting the only consideration should be ‘What is best for Annapolis?’”
