I especially enjoyed the second pic of the Annapolis City “cops” just hanging out…as always. I live in West Annap and was visiting friends in Bay Ridge for the fireworks. I left their place an hour after the show ended and it took me 90 MINUTES to travel 4.2 miles. I mean, c’mon: Annapolis quote-unquote cops have always been regarded as crossing guards with (hopefully unloaded) guns, but can’t these losers at least direct traffic? Especially since it doesn’t require any actual law enforcement?
BTW, NOT a fan of The Capital…but read Carl Feely’s letter to the editor on Saturday (7/4): puts these a-holes in their place!
I saw that letter. We even commented on that a while ago. As for The Capital, it is somewhat like a necessary evil—or roadside crash–you just can;t help but take a peek.
Overheard a cop on the trike talking with a parade watcher—they asked how fast it went, he said 25 mpg, but it beat the hell out of walking! And this guy probably needed it more than most. Although I will say I think Pristoop is a great chief. I saw him walk the parade route before the parade!
Thanks for your comment and for reading Eye On Annapolis!
No problem, glad to make a comment or two! ;)
BTW, I was about to make a smart remark about the fat APD quote-unquote officer who rides the Segway up Main Street and down Duke of Glouchester…but then I noticed it wasn’t a Segway but instead a 3-wheeled vehicle. For the physically/mentally impaired, one guesses.
How long has Chief Pristoop been with the APD? I’m guessing he’s not internal but yet another outsider recruited to correct these losers?
