Through some good legwork, the County Fire and Police Departments have arrested 4 individuals (3 minors and one adult) in connection with an arson last week in Odenton. The arson was believed to have been related to the Christopher Jones murder.

Very early this morning, police and fire officials arrested:

  1. Jonathan Richard Myers, 22, of the 1100 block of Soho Court, Crofton, Md
  2. A 16-year-old juvenile male from Crofton
  3. A 15-year-old juvenile male from Crofton
  4. A 16-year-old juvenile male from Gambrills

All of the suspects were charged with 1st Degree Arson, Malicious Burning in the 1st Degree, Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Arson and 3 Counts of Reckless Endangerment.

This is a fine example of investigative work by the police and fire department and Chief Teare and Chief Ray should be commended. I also want to thank the community for providing crucial tips in this case. We will continue our aggressive efforts to stop youth violence.

John R. Leopold, Anne Arundel County Executive

The investigation revealed that all of the suspects were tied to two local gangs identified as DMI (Dead Man Incorporated) and TNT (The New Threat).

While the investigation into the arson and the death of Christopher Jones is ongoing, police believe the two are intricately related
