Allen Apartments Gives Children’s Clinic 60 Days To Move
Back on March 18th, we gave The Capital kudos for finding a hidden gem in the Shanahan Children’s Clinic. This is a donation only clinic run by Sandi Shanahan for children who are un or underinsured.
We just learned that the Allen Apartments has decided to evict the Clinic and has asked that they vacate by June 30th. The Allen Apartments has allowed the Clinic to occupy their space rent free up until this point.
Eye On Annapolis believes that this type of program is instrumental to our communities. If anyone knows of any appropriate space that the clinic could occupy to provide this service, please send us an email and we will be sure to pass it along to Sandi. There are a lot of empty buildings around town and a lot of real estate types that read this site. Surely there is a small location suitable for the clinic and a philanthropic owner willing to offer the space, take a deduction, and feel very good when he goes to bed at night knowing that he did the right thing!
This is really jacked up!
If the police sub-station is in the same space, then why can’t the clinic stay?
Allen Apartments really should have thought this through BEFORE they let them move in in the first place.
They gave something great to the community and are now taking it away.
