The Galleries at Quiet Waters Park Presents; The Maryland Society of Portrait Painters All Members Exhibit. The exhibit will be on display in the Galleries from May 23 to July 8, 2018. The Opening Reception is June 3, 2018 from 1:30 TO 3:30. Entrance to the Park is $6:00 per vehicle; the fee will be waived for the reception only. The Visitors Center which houses the Galleries will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 4:00 (closed Tuesday) and from 10:00 to 4:00 on weekends.
The Maryland Society of Portrait Painters ( www. www.mdspp.com) is a non-profit organization founded in 1982 for the purpose of promoting and encouraging the development of portraiture. The purpose of the society is to encourage, support and promote the development of professional portraiture any medium. Membership is open to individuals and organizations interested in the art of portraiture or active in creating portraits in painting, drawing and sculpture. The Society membership varies from full time professional portrait painters to those who produce their art on weekends.
A wide variety of media will be on display at this exhibit including oil, pastels, charcoal, pencil, sculpture as well as composite works.
