<p><a title="WBAL-TV" href="http://www.wbaltv.com/news/maryland/anne-arundel-county/attackers-jump-rob-man-in-severn-police-say/-/10137088/20222396/-/s5r5ky/-/index.html" target="_blank">Attackers Jump, Rob Man In Severn</a>.  Anne Arundel County police said they are looking for a group of men that jumped and robbed a man in Severn. Officers were called to the 1800 block of Arwell Court for a report of a robbery around 3:45 a.m. Saturday. Police said a 26-year-old man told him he was approached by four men. He told police three men stood in the roadway, while the fourth brandished a handgun, struck the victim with the handgun and then forced the victim to empty his pockets.</p>

<p><a title="WBAL-TV" href="http://www.wbaltv.com/news/maryland/anne-arundel-county/police-4-johns-arrested-in-linthicum-prostitution-sting/-/10137088/20221498/-/hj0io8z/-/index.html" target="_blank">Four &#8216;Johns&#8217; Arrested In Linthicum Prostitution Sting</a>. Four men attempting to buy sexual services were arrested in a prostitution sting in Linthicum, police say on Monday. Anne Arundel County police detectives conducted an undercover prostitution sting in the Linthicum-area hotel district on May 1. Investigators said the operation focused specifically on johns attempting to solicit sexual services from prostitutes on the Internet.</p>

<p><a title="WBAL-TV" href="http://www.wbaltv.com/news/maryland/anne-arundel-county/anne-arundel-county-police-ask-for-publics-help-finding-vandals/-/10137088/20176162/-/d4wqbaz/-/index.html" target="_blank">Police Ask Public&#8217;s Help Finding Vandals</a>. Anne Arundel County police are asking for the public&#8217;s help to find vandals who are damaging homes and vehicles. Pictures of persons of interest were released Thursday by police. Police said they&#8217;ve responded to numerous complaints of destruction to homes and autos in the Gambrills and Crofton areas in April. Authorities said in several of the incidents vandals threw large landscaping bricks and boulders through car and house windows.</p>

Martin O&#8217;Malley signed one of the toughest gun control measures in the country into law Thursday, but even before the ink dries, opponents aim to kill the bill &#8212; either through the courts or by referendum. A petition drive is underway to put the law before voters while other groups vow a court battle. &#8221;The (National Rifle Association) is going to choose forum shopping. They are going to look for a conservative right wing leaning judge,&#8221; Senate President Mike Miller said.</p>

When they got there, they searched the home but didn&#8217;t find anyone.</p>

The pair is serving prison time while those documents are making their way back to their rightful owners, including the Maryland Historical Society.</p>

<p>Believe it or not, $10 goes a long way when you are operating on a shoestring like many non-profits are these days.</p>
<p>Today, organizers expect to see an increase in donors as various awards are offered to non-profits throughout the day.</p>
<p>Please consider a small (or large) donation today before the event ends tonight at 7:00pm.</p>

The affected area includes the section of Weems Creek from its headwaters to Rowe Boulevard. The closing is due to a wastewater spill of approximately 120,000 gallons caused by a Jennifer Road force main break that occurred Wednesday afternoon, May 15.</p>
<p>The Department of Health posted signs and the County Department of Public Works cleaned the impacted land area. The waterway closure will remain in effect until further notice. People coming in contact with the affected water are advised to wash well with soap and warm water immediately. Clothing should also be washed.</p>

<p><a title="WBAL-TV" href="http://www.wbaltv.com/news/maryland/anne-arundel-county/dwyers-plea-rejected-judge-recommends-jail-time/-/10137088/20139634/-/c0tcue/-/index.html" target="_blank">Judge Orders Jail Time For Dwyer In Drunk Boating Case</a>. An Anne Arundel County judge on Tuesday said Delegate Don Dwyer was guilty of drunken boating charges against him, ordering him to go to jail instead of giving him probation before judgment, according to a WBAL Radio tweet. The decision came down Tuesday despite a plea deal in which prosecutors said they would not pursue jail time.</p>

<p><a title="WBAL-TV" href="http://www.wbaltv.com/news/national/tougher-drinking-standard-for-drivers/-/9379440/20139618/-/q37xeg/-/index.html" target="_blank">Tougher Drunk Driving Threshold Proposed</a>. A common benchmark in the United States for determining when a driver is legally drunk is not doing enough to prevent alcohol-related crashes that kill about 10,000 people each year and should be made more restrictive, transportation safety investigators say. The National Transportation Safety Board recommended on Tuesday that all 50 states adopt a blood-alcohol content (BAC) cutoff of 0.05 compared to the 0.08 standard on the books today and used by law enforcement and the courts to prosecute drunk driving.</p>

UPDATE:</strong> Dwyer has 48 hours to appeal the sentence.  Absent an appeal, he is to report to jail on Thursday. Dwyer&#8217;s lawyer requested a probation before judgment (PBJ) sentence because it was Dwyer&#8217;s first offense. The judge refused saying it was a &#8220;tragedy in the making.&#8221; </em></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;">Delegate Don Dwyer has been sentenced to 30 days in prison, fined $1000, and given 1 year supervised probation for the driving a boat under the influence last summer.  At the time, Dwyer&#8217;s blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit and the lawmaker admitted that he had been drinking prior to operating his vessel.</span></p>

<p><a title="WBAL-TV" href="http://www.wbaltv.com/news/maryland/anne-arundel-county/2-injured-several-pets-killed-in-glen-burnie-fire/-/10137088/20121290/-/w2ve6uz/-/index.html" target="_blank">2 Injured, Several Pets Killed In Glen Burnie Fire</a>. Fire officials in Anne Arundel County are still looking for the cause of a blaze that seriously damaged a Glen Burnie home, injuring two people inside and killing several family pets. Crews were called to the two-story single-family home around 2:45 pm. Sunday in the 900 block of Langley Road, where they found smoke and fire coming from the home.</p>
<p><a title="WBAL-TV" href="http://www.wbaltv.com/news/maryland/baltimore-county/officer-pleads-guilty-to-sexual-activity-while-on-duty/-/10136486/20122766/-/kfdyu5z/-/index.html" target="_blank">Officer Pleads Guilty To Sexual Activity While On Duty</a>. A Baltimore County police officer who was accused in late April of engaging in sexual activity while on duty has pleaded guilty to misconduct in office. Aaron Pross, 29, of Newark, Del., pleaded guilty Monday in Baltimore County court. He also resigned from his position in the police department.</p>

<p><a title="WBAL-TV" href="http://www.wbaltv.com/news/maryland/anne-arundel-county/baltimore-city-police-officer-faces-human-trafficking-charges/-/10137088/20098380/-/bp4ar0/-/index.html" target="_blank">Police: Officer Arrested For Human Trafficking</a>. A Baltimore City police officer and a woman have been arrested on criminal charges including prostitution and human trafficking, the Maryland State Police said. Authorities said the Maryland State Police Child Recovery Unit was working their normal proactive child prostitution/human trafficking operation Thursday when they found a young-looking woman posting on an Internet escort website they said advertises for prostitution.</p>
<p><a title="WBAL-TV" href="http://www.wbaltv.com/news/maryland/anne-arundel-county/police-make-drug-arrest-in-severn/-/10137088/20079236/-/q729wnz/-/index.html" target="_blank">Police Make Drug Arrest In Severn</a>.  A 26-year-old Severn man was arrested on drug-related charges, Anne Arundel County police said. Police said detectives conducted a traffic stop on a man leaving the home for which they had a search warrant. Once the vehicle was stopped, detectives identified the driver as the person listed in the search warrant. At that time, the man was detained and searched, police said.</p>

Dozens of horses who were abused and neglected are making a big comeback at a Howard County farm. Many of the horses you&#8217;ll find at the Days End Farm Horse Rescue in Woodbine don&#8217;t look like they were once victims of animal cruelty. Officials said they arrived in various stages of abuse and neglect, which was most often starvation.</p>
