HeimLantz CPAs and Advisors is pleased to announce our being granted the 2017 Business Hall of Fame Don Riddle Corporate Citizenship Award presented by the Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.

“We are proud to have earned this distinguished award,” said Carter Heim. “This is a true demonstration of the dedication and support this firm provides each and every day. HeimLantz believes in making lives better and we do this through being proactive in the communities that we serve.”

Each year, the Anne Arundel Chamber and Commerce and Severn Bank conduct the Business Awards Program to heighten awareness of corporate citizenship in our county, give recognition to significant accomplishments by business people and companies, and to identify role models for other business people to follow as they seek success in their own business and community endeavors.

The Don Riddle Corporate Citizenship Awards honors a business for its philanthropic contributions and strong commitment to public service. This award celebrates the recipient’s dedication to giving back to the communities they serve through community outreach, philanthropic activity, and sustainability.

Carter Heim and the team at HeimLantz received this nomination for their commitment to improving the community, through volunteer work both in and outside of the office.  Many of the HeimLantz team members participate in activities including volunteering at local churches, participating in food drives, and providing clothing for homeless.  The group also offers a weekly opportunity for the firm’s members to donate money to a charity of their choice by participating in “cash for comfort”.  As illustrated in the HeimLantz’s mission statement, Carter and the firm are passionate about living with the purpose to make lives better.

Carter works with many organizations within the community. Carter has been a leader with the Anne Arundel County Chamber for years.  He also serves as Trustee and Treasurer on the Executive Committee and Finance & Administration Committee for the Chesapeake Bay Trust, a Trustee on the AICPA Benevolent Fund, a Corporator, lector, and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Church.  Carter mentors two CPAs through AICPA’s Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee, serves on the Maryland Association of CPAs Audit Committee, and has recently been licensed as a Gazelles International Certified Coach.

“I firmly believe HeimLantz has a responsibility to build up our community,” said Carter. “I encourage all of our employees to be active members of the community through volunteer efforts. HeimLantz has been lucky to be part of the greater Annapolis area for more than 15 years, and I know that’s because we have become such great partners with the businesses that we serve.”

HeimLantz is a full service public accounting and business advisory firm serving the greater Annapolis and Alexandria regions. The firm specializes in general accounting, business valuation, employee benefit plan audits, forensics and litigation support, succession planning, internal controls and outsourced CFO services. The HeimLantz team is comprised of over 20 highly seasoned CPAs and Business Advisors.
