Arnett and Paone prevail in Annapolis election canvassing, both to retain their seats

Incumbent Aldermen Fred Paone (R-Ward 2) and Ross Arnett (D-Ward 8) have retained their seats after all absentee and provisional votes were counted.

Prior to the canvass, Paone held a slim 18 vote lead over challenger Kurt Riegel. After the canvass, Riegel trailed Paone by 42 votes allowing Paone to retain the seat. Final count Paone – 842, Riegel – 800.

In Ward 8, Arnett picked up 66 additional votes and Mussog picked up an additional 54 votes which ended up giving Arnett a 63 vote victory to retain his seat. Final count Arnett – 916, Mussog – 853.
