AACC wins PR and Marketing awards

Anne Arundel Community CollegeThe Anne Arundel Community College Public Relations and Marketing department recently earned several awards for their work this past year.

The team earned five Certificate of Excellence awards in Graphic Design USA’s 2017 American Graphic Design national competition. The organization reviews thousands of creative entries by professionals at advertising agencies and design firms, as well as corporate, institutional and publishing in-house departments. The competition honors outstanding new design work in print, packaging, digital, interactive and video.  PRM received awards for the following design projects:

  • AACC Website (Design: VisionPoint, Creative Direction: Allison Baumbusch, Ben Pierce, Charlie West).
  • Wingspan Magazine (Senior Designer: Ben Pierce, Creative Director: Allison Baumbusch, Editor: Dan Baum, Writer: Angie Hamlet, Copy Editor: Sue Donaldson, Production Manager: Trish Eyerly).
  • Dance Program Brochure (Senior Designer: Ben Pierce, Creative Director: Allison Baumbusch, Copy Editor: Sue Donaldson, Production Manager: Trish Eyerly).
  • Admissions Viewbook (Design and Creative Direction: Allison Baumbusch and Ben Pierce, Marketing Coordinator: Ashley Warrick, Executive Director: Dan Baum, Production Manager: Trish Eyerly, Copy Editor: Sue Donaldson).
  • Hawk’s Nest Deli & Grill Environmental Graphics (Senior Designer: Ben Pierce, Creative Director: Allison Baumbusch, Facilities Project Managers: Richard Ensor, Alexis Thompson).

The team earned five Medallion awards from District 1 of the National Council for Public Relations and Marketing (NCMPR). The Medallion Awards is the only regional competition of its kind to honor outstanding achievement exclusively among marketing and public relations professionals at community, junior and technical colleges. District 1 encompasses colleges located in the Mid-Atlantic region; New England; the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec; and the United Kingdom. PRM received awards for the following projects:

  • Gold Medallion: Welcome Packet: (Executive Director: Dan Baum, Senior Graphic Designer: Ben Pierce, Creative Director: Allison Baumbusch, Marketing Coordinator: Ashley Warrick, Production Manager: Trish Eyerly, Copy Editor: Sue Donaldson).
  • Gold Medallion: AACC Website (Public Relations and Marketing and Information Services teams).
  • Silver Medallion: Athletics Training Room Environmental Graphics (Senior Graphic Designer: Ben Pierce, Creative Director: Allison Baumbusch, Facilities Project Manager: Alexis Thompson).
  • Silver Medallion: Women’s Lacrosse Championship Tournament Program (Senior Graphic Designer: Ben Pierce, Creative Director: Allison Baumbusch, Production Manager: Trish Eyerly, Copy Editor: Sue Donaldson).
  • Silver Medallion: Excellence in Writing for “Eight Things to Know About Engagement Matters.” (Assistant Director of Public Relations: Laurie Farrell).
