Pantelides makes another appointment to the HACA Board

Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides announced Corey A. Johnson as his nomination for the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis (HACA) Board of Commissioners today.

Mr. Johnson is a resident of Annapolis and is the current Security and Safety Lead Officer for the Town of Highland Beach. In this position he is responsible for coordinating and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the protection and safety of the Town of Highland Beach with asset value of approximately $1 billion. Mr. Johnson also oversees the daily activities of the Security team at the Westin in Georgetown as its Director of Safety and Security.  There, he maintains a close working relationship with law enforcement and emergency agencies, interviews, selects, trains, evaluates, and coaches security officers to maintain order throughout the property.

“I have chosen each nominee for the Board very carefully, intending that they represent the needs of the community,” Mayor Pantelides said.  “Those currently serving have strong backgrounds in finance, law, housing, and administration.  This nomination will put in place the much needed public safety component that will work with Annapolis Police Officers to continue creating a trusting environment between residents and law enforcement.”

Corey Johnson brings fifteen years of public safety and security management to the position including Manager of Security and Safety at the Gaylord National Resort, Manager of Public Safety and Security at UniverSoul Circus, Inc., and Security Specialist at Picerne Military Housing.

Mr. Johnson will fill the seat vacated by Deborah Johnson whose term ended.
