Gardens for Heroes

Our mission is to nurture wounded veterans and their families with the development of private and public therapeutic gardens and horticulture vocational programs. We are looking for members of military families, gardeners, horticulture professionals and community-minded individuals who will help us share our mission with the military and garden/horticulture communities. These individuals will help us communicate the research that has proven the healing powers of gardens and champion horticulture therapy as one of the holistic approaches to suicide prevention. Using real world and social networking, our volunteers will also help us to identify wounded veterans who are lifelong gardeners and who have personally experienced the power of gardening. Additionally, our volunteers will assist in fundraising research so we can grow the capacity of our organization to create healing gardens for wounded veterans and their families. For more information contact us at [email protected] or 410-349-0600. See web site:www.gardensforheroes.org.
