Annapolis Opera kicks off season this weekend with “Little Women”

The Annapolis Opera, one of the resident companies at Maryland Hall will be kicking off their season this weekend with “Little Women,” by Mark Adamo.

The performance is an adaptation of the famed novel by Louisa May Alcott and has been praised for it’s performances across the globe since 1998.

Tickets are still available for the Friday evening show or the Sunday matinee.

In addition to the performances, there will be a lecture. On November 5th, author Mark Adamo will discuss his process for creating “Little Women” as well as the state of opera in the US.

Looking forward, December 3rd will bring “Arias and Encores” to Calvary United Methodist Church. There is a children’s’ opera “Billy Goats Gruff” on January 27th. Just in time for Valentines Day, “Taking A Chance on Love”, a performance filled with arias and love songs will be performed at Center Stage at Live! Casino in Hanover.

And for you traditionalists, Verdi’s “La Traviata” will be back at Maryland Hall on March 16th and 18th!

To end the season, the Annapolis Opera will hold their annual vocal competition on April 28th and 29th and will finally capstone the season there will be a free performance at the Concert in the Park at Quiet Waters park on June 10th
