State’s Attorney Adams announces new STING Unit

Wes AdamsAnne Arundel County State’s Attorney Wes Adams announced the introduction of a new unit within the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office: Strategic Targeted Investigations of Narcotics and Gangs (STING). This unit is composed of four prosecutors dedicated to Intelligence Driven Prosecution that identifies the top criminal offenders plaguing individual communities.
“The creation of this unit is the culmination of months of strategic intel gathering and sharing between federal, state, and local partners” said Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney Wes Adams. “My office will continue to foster these relationships as we work bring gang violence to an end in our county.”
In conjunction with the introduction of the RICO statute on October 1, 2017, the STING unit will work hand in hand with other law enforcement agencies to vigorously identify, investigate, and prosecute organized crime and gangs throughout the county.
STING is lead by Assistant State’s Attorney Jason Knight, formerly the Chief of Homicide and Violent Crimes.
