Crosby hires new Director of Research and Insights

Anya KaravanovAnya Karavanov, Ph.D., has joined Crosby Marketing Communications as Senior Vice President, Director of Research and Insights. She will lead the firm’s research efforts and support the development of insight-driven campaigns to better engage consumer and professional audiences.

Karavanov is a seasoned research and evaluation professional with 20 years of experience serving healthcare, nonprofit and federal government clients. She will spearhead programs using an array of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to develop communications strategies and behavior change initiatives, test messaging and creative concepts, and measure brand image and overall program impact.

Prior to joining Crosby, Karavanov was the principal of her own firm, Communicating for Social Change, and also served on the faculty of American University’s School of Communication. Before that, she was a Director at the American Institutes for Research, one of the world’s largest behavioral and social science research organizations. Her work has helped inform initiatives to improve the nation’s health, protect the environment and reform the public education system. She has worked with clients such as AARP Foundation, Smithsonian Institute, General Electric Foundation, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and several agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services.

Karavanov received her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park, Department of Communication, and her M.A. in Public Communication from American University.
