Officials for the Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) today announced the exciting schedule of events making up the third annual county STEM festival. The event celebrates the importance of science, technology, engineering and math in our everyday lives.
Programs, open to all ages, include:
- Maker Space Open House at the Chesapeake Arts Center on Saturday, September 30 at 10 am.
- Stomp Rockets and 3D Printing at the Eastport-Annapolis Neck Library on Tuesday, October 17 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
- STEM Night at the Mountain Road Library on Tuesday, October 17 at 7pm
- Science of Dragon Boating at the Annapolis Library on Tuesday, October 24 at 4:30 pm.
- Virtual Reality Showcase at the Westfield Annapolis Mall on Tuesday, October 24 from 5-8pm.
- STEM Day at the Glen Burnie Regional Library on Saturday, November 4 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., featuring hands on activities.
- The Science of Sound at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts on Saturday, November 4 at 5 pm.
- Science Night at Anne Arundel Community College on Tuesday, November 7 from 5:30-7:30 pm.
- Dozens of other STEM related events at the library’s 15 branches in October and November.
The Anne Arundel County STEM Festival is sponsored by AACPL, 4-H, Annapolis Dragon Boat Club, Annapolis Opera, Anne Arundel Community College, Anne Arundel County Public Schools, Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works, Army Research Lab, Center for Applied Technology North, Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail, Chesapeake Arts Center, Chesapeake Conservancy, Fort Meade Alliance, Judy Center, Key School, NASA, National Capital Radio and Television Museum, Oyster Recovery Partnership, Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, University of Maryland Cooperative Extension and Westfield Annapolis.
