Three Bowie pitchers combined on a shutout and the offense plated nine runs on 15 hits as the Baysox (65-59) blanked the Erie SeaWolves (60-64) by a score of 9-0 on Saturday night at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie.

RHP Lucas Long (W, 5.0 IP, 5 H, BB, 4 K), LHP Paul Fry (3.0 IP, H, BB, 4 K) and RHP Jason Garcia(1.0 IP, H, 2 K) teamed up to toss the shutout for manager Gary Kendall’s squad.

Long earned the win to improve to 9-5 on the season.

The Baysox got on the board with a run in the second as DJ Stewart drew a leadoff walk, went to third on an Aderlin Rodriguez double and scored later in the inning when Erick Salcedo reached on an error charged to Erie 1B Logan Watkins.

Garabez Rosa’s three-run shot with two outs in the fifth extended the Bowie lead to 4-0. The home run was Rosa’s 13th of the season and came on the 10th pitch of the at bat.

Bowie broke the game open with a four-run sixth as Rosa delivered the big blow in the inning with a two-run single, while Stevie Wilkerson plated a run via an RBI double and Salcedo delivered an RBI single.

SeaWolves starter Tyler Alexander (7-8) gave up six runs (five earned) on 10 hits to go along with a walk and four strikeouts in 5.1 IP. The other runs in the inning were charged to RHP Adam Ravenelle(2.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 K).
