Colonial Players to present Shiloh Rules

The Colonial Players, Inc. of Annapolis, Maryland is pleased to present the opening production of their 69th season, Shiloh Rules, by Doris Baizley. Beth Terranova directs the all-female season opener, which the New York Times calls “an inventive comedy with some drama, history and first-aid tips thrown in.”

A dedicated Union nurse and a mysterious Confederate refugee meet on the Shiloh battlefield to compete for the title of Best Female Reenactor of the Year. With their young trainees trying to out-do each other in “authenticity,” and a concessionaire egging both sides on, their competition leads them into real conflict with Ranger Wilson, an African-American female park ranger who would rather be anywhere than the year 1862, imaginary or not. As the re-enactment rages out of control, all six women discover that some conflicts of the Civil War weren’t left behind in 1862.

Shiloh Rules features Shannon Benil, Carrie Brady, Laura Ivey, Jamie Miller, Ashley Spooner and Meg Venton. Performances run from September 8, 2017 through October 1, 2017. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m., Sunday performances begin at 2 p.m.

Tickets for Shiloh Rules are $23 for Adults, and $18 for Seniors, Students, and Military. Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.thecolonialplayers.org, or by calling the Box Office at 410-268-7373, option 2. Single tickets will go on sale Monday, August 21, 2017.
