Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL)

Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) has a vibrant team of 500+ volunteers assisting in our 15 libraries located throughout the County. Library staff are often looking for volunteers to assist staff with a variety of library activities such as unpacking and checking in books, searching the collection for requested items, book repair, filing, and computer orientation. These positions usually require the ability to bend, lift boxes and books, use a hand held scanning device, and to stand for periods of time. Volunteers are recruited, interviewed and trained at the local library level. Every library has one or more Volunteer Supervisors.  You must be at least 14 years old to apply and are expected to volunteer 2-3 hours per week, usually in the morning. Due to the nature of the jobs and the training involved, libraries prefer a commitment of at least 6 months for most volunteer jobs. For more information see: www.aacpl.net/volunteer-at-the-library or call 410-222-7371.
