CaliBurger, the new California-style burger place at the Harbour Center is hoping to take a burden off the backs of some parents at Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Each year, students who are unable to afford school meals amass a debt of about $20,000. To offset the debt, these students are sometimes excluded from extra-curricular activities such as field trips.
According to Sumeet Goel, the owner of CaliBurger, he hopes to eliminate that burden this year by raising $20,000. July 10-21, CaliBurger will donate 5% of their sales to the fund. Additionally, there are collection jars in the restaurant. And finally, they will be collecting funds via a GoFundMe drive throughout the summer!
After a soft opening at the end of June, CaliBurger has been getting good reviews. Of course, there were a few bumps, but the burger during the soft open was very solid!
