It has been almost one year since the flash flood of 2016 ripped through the small, historic town of Ellicott City, MD., displacing hundreds of residents and damaging dozens of businesses. Joan Eve Classics & Collectibles, an antique store located on Main Street, was one of the hardest hit, as the river surged and came through the building in a matter of minutes.
Joan Eve Shea-Cohen, owner of Joan Eve Classics & Collectibles, lost everything. Antique furniture, signed artwork, vintage barware, silver, glassware, jewelry and all of her personal memorabilia washed way. Joan Eve has been a part of Ellicott City for over 21 years with her antique collection and for those who know her know her shop is her life.
Fast forward, a year later, after rebuilding her antique collection and treasures, Joan Eve has reopened Joan Eve Classics & Collectibles, at a new, smaller location – 8069C Main St, Ellicott City, MD, in the Great Panes Building.
A ribbon cutting was held on Saturday, July 8th at Noon.
