Erik Evans has been chosen to become the new Executive Director for Downtown Annapolis Partnership (DAP), effective immediately.
Mr. Evans has deep experience in leading community organizations, currently serving as the executive director of both the Inner West Street Association (IWSA) and the Annapolis Arts District (AAD). He will continue leading both organizations while expanding his responsibilities to include DAP. “We are delighted that Erik has joined our organization,” stated Melanie Murphy, Interim Chairman of DAP. “The energy and creativity that he demonstrates with IWSA and AAD has paid dividends for residents, visitors and business owners in our community. We look forward to Erik bringing his vision and skill to the rest of downtown Annapolis.”
Strategically, this allows the organizations to begin working toward common programs, creating synergy and improving communication within the business communities. The three organizations have agreed to work with one executive director to find new ways to work together for the benefit of the Annapolis community.
Downtown Annapolis Partnership’s focus remains intact using the Main Street Approach to create and foster a thriving local economy, to capitalize on the vibrant and rich history of Annapolis and to provide a place where visitors and residents feel at home. The key to the success of this organization is bringing a community together toward a common goal and to celebrate the different areas within our neighborhoods and districts.
