Seven-run second propels Trenton past the Baysox 7-3

Baysox FieldA seven-run second for Trenton proved to be too much to overcome as the Bowie Baysox (31-31) dropped their fourth straight with a 7-3 loss to the Thunder (39-21) on Saturday night at ARM & HAMMER Park in Trenton.

This marks the first time that Bowie has dropped four straight since losing seven in a row to end the 2016 campaign.

In the afore-mentioned seven-run second, Miguel Andujar delivered the big blow with a three-run blast off of Baysox starter Matthew GrimesBilly Fleming and Jorge Saez also plated runs with RBI doubles in the frame for Trenton.

A solo shot from Chris O’Brien in the third put the Baysox on the board and cut the lead to 7-1. The home run was O’Brien’s first of the season.

Grimes (2-6) allowed the seven runs on eight hits to go along with two walks and a strikeout in 1.1 IP.

Trenton starter LHP Nestor Cortes (4-0) surrendered the one run on four hits while fanning four over five innings of work.
