Tillman and Worth invited to post-season All-Star Game

Navy senior wide receiver Jamir Tillman and senior quarterback Will Worth have been invited to postseason all-star games.  Tillman will play in the NFL Players Association All-Star game on January 21 in Los Angeles, while Worth was invited to the East-West Shrine Game on January 21 in St. Petersburg, Fla.  Worth will not be able to play the game due to the injury he suffered in the AAC Championship Game.

Tillman, who is Navy’s leading receiver for a third consecutive year with 38 catches for 615 yards and two touchdowns, is second on Navy’s all-time career receiving yards list with 1,610 yards.  He needs 127 yards against Louisiana Tech in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl to pass Rob Taylor as Navy’s all-time leader.  Tillman’s 89 career catches stands seventh all-time at Navy.

Worth, who was having one of the greatest seasons in Navy history before injuring his foot in the AAC Championship game against Temple, rushed for 1,198 yards and 25 touchdowns on 264 carries while completing 72 of his 117 pass attempts for 1,397 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions. His 25 rushing touchdowns led the country and were the fourth most in NCAA history by a quarterback.  Worth’s 2,595 yards of total offense and 179.3 passing efficiency were school records.

Navy (9-4) will take on Louisiana Tech (8-5) in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl on Friday, Dec. 23 at 4:30 PM (ET), 3:30 PM (CT) in Fort Worth, Texas.
