Navy burns the mule, looks to hand Army their 15th loss in a row

The Naval Academy had their annual Army-Navy Pep Rally last night on Forest Sherman Field along the banks of the Severn River.  The Academy’s Electric Brigade and Cheerleaders fired up the crowd of nearly 3000 before bringing on the Superintendent of the Naval Academy VADM Walter E. “Ted” Carter and the Commandant of Midshipmen Colonel Stephen E. Liszewski.

The highlight was when the USNA Football team took to the stage to rally the crowd for the 117th Annual Army-Navy Game to be played in Baltimore this weekend.  After getting sufficiently fired up, the crowd moved to the center of the field where an effigy of an Army mule was set ablaze by the team.

As the mule, hung amidst a pile of wooden pallets continued to burn, the Brigade of Midshipmen sand the school’s Alma Mater the Navy Blue and Gold.
