leahyAnnapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides announced that Michael Leahy will be returning to the City of Annapolis as its City Attorney, effective Monday, December 19, 2016.

“This is a real win for the city, and needless to say, I am happy to have him back serving the city and addressing our legal responsibilities,” Mayor Pantelides said.  “His extensive knowledge of our codes and regulations will benefit the City Council as a whole and I know my colleagues look forward to his return as well. I would also like to thank Gary Elson, who was the Acting City Attorney, for his exceptional service.”

Mr. Leahy accepted the Senior Advisor to Governor Larry Hogan in June of this year and was the Director of Real Property Strategies since June, but his resignation from the state allows him to return to his position and resume his previous duties.

“While I am honored and grateful to have served Governor Hogan, my first love is practicing law and I feel I can accomplish more as the city attorney, in an effort to propel Mayor Michael Pantelides initiatives and legislative agenda,” Leahy said.
