WMATA Chief to speak at BWI Partnership breakfast

bwi-partnershipPaul Wiedefeld, General Manager & CEO of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) will be the keynote speaker at the BWI Business Partnership’s Signature Breakfast, to be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 7:45 a.m. at the BWI Airport Marriott, 1743 West Nursery Road in Linthicum MD.

Mr. Wiedefeld will provide a briefing on WMATA and the Metrorail and Metrobus system of Washington D.C.  Included will be an update on SafeTrack, an accelerated track work plan to address safety recommendations and rehabilitate the Metrorail system to improve safety and reliability.

“Public transportation in and around the Washington metropolitan area is crucial to the entire Central Maryland region” said Greg Pecoraro, executive director of the Partnership. “The success of WMATA in renovating and restoring this system is critical to us all.  We know and respect Paul Wiedefeld’s work in Maryland, and look forward to hearing about his work in Washington.”
